How to use this project tracker
- Set the milestones first. Three to six big checkpoints for the project.
- Break milestones into tasks. Each task should take days, not months.
- Give every task one owner and a due date.
- Update status as you go. Not in a Friday afternoon panic.
- Write a three-line weekly summary. Done, next, needs a decision.
Keep the status honest
"On track" is only useful if it's true. A simple rule: if any milestone is more than a week late, the project is at risk. If the finish date has moved, it's off track until a new date is agreed.
From tracker to board
Spreadsheet trackers break down when several people edit them. On a BOO Workspace board, every task is a card with custom fields for priority and milestone. The same tasks show as kanban, table, calendar and planner, so the project lead sees dates and the team sees what's next. See how it works for project managers.
